Using Technology in Language Teaching

  How did I feel after the lesson?  Minutes before the lesson starts, I was a bit nervous and lack of confidence because I had not tried to use all tools/ sites introduced in the required reading materials. However, when it came to break-out room, I felt much better thank to the open sharing and discussion of other member in Room 2. I managed to bookmarked all sites introduced by my teamates while listening to each of them present using diiago. I found the break-out room part was very useful for me. However, by the end of the lesson, the feeling of being overwhelmed caught me. I feel like I was behind the others and had to catch up. Ok! How did I feel after the lesson?  My energy was lifted up a bit after the discussion part with other members in group 6 as some ideas came across my mind about what I would do next with things I learnt from reading materials and others during the lesson. It was a productive lesson and I felt pretty good about my contribution during the discussion. What did I learn? 1. ABCD learning objectives Three of us including Ms. Thanh, Ms. Hien and I are familiar with using ABCD model in writing learning objectives. The other three never used this method before but they did give an attempt to try and present their first ABCD learning objectives ever. Even to those who are currently using ABCD models, we didn't think we master it yet. We gave each other's work feedbacks and comments. What have I learnt and what I have done in this module/ this course so far? To begin with, I learned that there are so many open sources available to me that can be used to improve my teaching and my students' learning. I believe if I look hard enough into 100 best ESL teachers blogs and websites , I would find answers to almost all questions facing me as an English teacher ranging from lesson planning to new trends in teaching English. I will soon take advantage of these resources and, more importantly, I hope I will start networking and being a part of the ELT global network working towards the goal of making life easier for all teachers.
