Module 1: Creating an academic blog
What have I learnt and what I have done in this module/ this course so far?
To begin with, I learned that there are so many open sources available to me that can be used to improve my teaching and my students' learning. I believe if I look hard enough into 100 best ESL teachers blogs and websites, I would find answers to almost all questions facing me as an English teacher ranging from lesson planning to new trends in teaching English. I will soon take advantage of these resources and, more importantly, I hope I will start networking and being a part of the ELT global network working towards the goal of making life easier for all teachers. Fingers crossed!
I already saved the link so that I'll have instant access in the future 😁
Secondly, I successfully created an academic blog named Kindergarten Life at https://fallinlovewithkindergarten.blogspot.com/ . Before joining this course, I intended to make an education podcast about teaching in kindergarten. However, due to my tight schedule, it never had a chance to come into existence. I guess now is the time, just with a different tool which grants me a great deal of flexibility. It is my thought that my posts or my co-authors' posts are not THE truth. They are our truths, our current truths. Therefore, they are not intended to teach anyone - merely to share our stories with the hope that our readers would find something useful. I plan to have one article posted per week.
I also created this ILT reflection blog as one of this course' requirements. I have to admit that I did experience an uneasy feeling of learning to do something new for the first time. However, I can not deny their long term benefit for my professional development.
My goal is to create another blog in Vietnamese using WIX by the end of October. This blog will be for the purpose of sharing learning content at school with parents so that they can support their kids better at home.
Last but not least, it's Ms. Huong's professional working style (always well-prepared, to the point, open-minded and most importantly, tech-savvy) that I want me to grow into.
As a saying goes "Shoot for the moon. If you miss it, you will still land among the stars."
Happy weekend, everyone! (and ME too) ^^
