Journal Entry 2: So, What’s Next? - Embracing Future Changes in Teaching with Evolving Technologies

In the rapidly changing landscape of educational technology, reflecting on the past and envisioning the future becomes crucial. Over my years in early childhood education, I have witnessed the transformative impact of technology in my classroom. As I ponder the future, especially considering the insights from the Edu cause New Horizons Report 2020, my vision for teaching in the next two, five, and ten years is shaped by the ongoing evolution of educational technology.

In the next two years, I plan to incorporate more technology into my classroom in the following ways:

  • Use educational apps and games to teach English vocabulary and grammar. There are many high-quality educational apps and games available that can help young children learn English in a fun and engaging way. I plan to use these apps and games in my classroom to help children learn new vocabulary words and grammar concepts.
  • Use technology to create personalized learning experiences for each child. Technology can help me to assess each child's individual needs and create personalized learning experiences. For example, I could use a technology platform to create an individualized learning plan for each child, I could also use an AI-powered teaching platform to provide each child with real-time feedback on their English speaking and writing.

In the next five years, I see myself using even more advanced technologies in my preschool English teaching. For example, I may use virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) to create immersive learning experiences for children. For example, I could use VR to take children on a virtual field trip to an English-speaking country. The children could explore the country and meet native English speakers. I may also use artificial intelligence (AI) to personalize learning even further.

In the next ten years, I believe that technology will have completely transformed preschool education. We may see the rise of virtual preschools, where children learn from anywhere in the world using VR and AR. We may also see the development of new AI-powered teaching tools that can help children learn English more effectively than ever before. However, with this speed of technology advancement, it’s hard to predict accurately what education landscape would look like in five, not to mention 10 years in the future.

My vision for the future of preschool English teaching is quite positive. It’s a future where technology is used to personalize learning, create immersive learning experiences, and make learning more fun and engaging. I believe that technology has the potential to revolutionize preschool education and help all children learn English effectively.
